About us

The Aero Club of South Africa is a non-profit organisation that pro-actively promotes, protects and preserves all forms of sport and recreational aviation in South Africa. It is the national sporting body for all South African aviation.
 

Use of Site

You may only use this site to browse the content, make legitimate purchases and shall not use this site for any other purposes, including without limitation, to make any speculative, false or fraudulent purchase. This site and the content provided in this site may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed. 'Deep-linking', 'embedding' or using analogous technology is strictly prohibited. The Aero Club of South Africa NPC, and subsidiary companies, staff and members reserve the right to:
  1. Modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, the website (or any part of) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or
    change these conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the website (or any part of) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether the conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the conditions, then you must immediately stop using the website.
  2. Use our reasonable endeavours to maintain the website. The website is subject to change from time to time. You will not be eligible for any compensation because you cannot use any part of the website or because of a failure, suspension or withdrawal of all or part of the website due to circumstances beyond our control.

We respect your privacy and will take reasonable measures to protect it in terms
of the POPI Act and other applicable regulations.
 
All the information gathered in the online forms on the website is used to personally identify members for the issuing of membership; and verifying their membership status. 
We may require you to provide us with personal information which includes but is
not limited to:  
We will not, without your express consent:
  1. use your personal information for any purpose other than
    1. to identify you as a member;
    2. in relation to the ordering, sale and delivery of products;
    3. to improve your experience on our website by, inter alia, monitoring statistical non-personal browsing habits, and to transact with us; or
  2. disclose your personal information to any third-party other than
    1. to our employees and/or third-party service providers who assist us to interact with you via our website, email or any other method; for the ordering of products or when delivering products to you, and thus need to know your personal information in order to assist us to communicate with you properly and efficiently;
    2. to our suppliers in order for them to liaise directly with you in the event of you submitting a warranty claim regarding any products you have purchased which requires their involvement.
    3. for bona-fide personal safety concerns or as required in terms of the law.
 
We shall consider online transactions undertaken by minors to be undertaken with the explicit consent and all relevant necessary authority of their legal guardians; to the extent that it shall be treated as if it were being conducted by a major adult. We will ensure that all of our employees, section administrators, third party service providers, and partners (including their employees and third-party service providers) having access to your personal information are bound by appropriate and legally binding

  2. take reasonable appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure that your personal information is kept secure and is protected against unauthorised or unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction or damage, alteration, disclosure or access;

  4. promptly notify you if we become aware of any unauthorised use, disclosure or processing of your personal information;
  5. provide you with reasonable evidence of our compliance with our obligations under this policy on reasonable notice and request; and
  6. upon your request, promptly return or destroy any and all of your personal information in our possession or control.

was originally needed, unless we are required by law to do so.
 
The Aero Club of South Africa NPC undertakes never to sell or make your personal information available to any third-party other than as provided for in this policy, unless we are compelled to do so by law. We reserve the right to disclose relevant personal information for personal safety concerns, or for criminal investigation purposes. Whilst we will do all things reasonably necessary to protect your rights of privacy, we cannot guarantee or accept any liability whatsoever for unauthorised or unlawful disclosures of your personal information, whilst in our possession, made by third-parties who are not subject to our control, unless such disclosure is as a result of our gross negligence.
 
If you disclose your personal information to a third party, such as an entity which
operates a website linked to this website, the Aero Club of SA NPC shall not be liable for any loss or damage, howsoever arising, suffered by you as a result of the disclosure of such information to the third party. Product availability policy

Every effort is made to ensure you receive items purchased timeously however unforeseen circumstances may cause delays. Should we be faced with such an occurrence the Aero Club of South Africa reserves the right to cancel the transaction and refund any monies paid, or by mutual agreement substitute the product.

Delivery Policy

When you click to make a purchase with us, legal obligations arise and your right to refund of monies charged to your credit card or paid in any other way agreed by us, are limited by our terms and conditions. You must not make any purchase through this site unless you understand and agree all our terms and conditions. Once payment is made for the purchase, it is deemed that you have read and understood the terms and conditions for such purchase. If you have any queries, please contact us before making any purchase for any service through this website.
 
Please ensure the correct shipping address is provided from the outset as title and risk will pass to you once the order has left our premises.
 
Occasionally packages are returned to us undeliverable. Should this event take place every attempt will be made to contact you to make arrangements for re-shipment. Should you not be contactable after 6 months from date of sale, we will consider the transaction invalid, and the ownership of the goods transferred back to us to offset costs incurred.
 
Membership Certificate processing will not commence until full payment has been confirmed as being received. Payment for membership does not imply bone fide membership until such has been approved by the relevant section. Until accepted as a full member, you will be considered as a provisional member with all the rights and privileges of a full member, but these privileges and rights can be unilaterally revoked by the relevant section committee.  
 
 

Refunds/returns Policy

You must advise us in writing of your cancellation and any such cancellation must be signed by the person who made the original purchase. The decision to accept cancellation or not, will be made by the Aero Club of South Africa General Manager and this decision will be final.

The Aero Club of South Africa reserves the right to change pricing at any time without prior notice.
 

Credit Cards

We accept valid MasterCard and Visa credit cards. If you do not have a credit card please contact the Aero Club office on 011 082 1100 for assistance, or simply log off and return to the site at a later time to complete your transaction. All of your details will be saved online in the “Your Account” section available for use whenever you’re ready!

I understand that all the designs and trademarks whether registered or not represent the intellectual property of The Aero Club of South Africa, and hereby accept all the above terms and conditions. I undertake not to copy/duplicate the trademarks and designs directly or indirectly in anyway and understand the legal implications thereof. Should I be found to be in violation of this agreement I understand that I will be held liable for all costs incurred by The Aero Club of South Africa for any civil action or any legal action deemed necessary against me, including all legal costs payable at attorney client rates.
